Weil has played a significant role in advising Actis, a prominent investor in sustainable infrastructure within growth markets, on the fundraising of its second Actis Long Life Infrastructure Fund (ALLIF2). The fund has secured commitments amounting to US$1.7 billion for investments in operating infrastructure across various growth markets.

The strategy of the Actis long life infrastructure focuses on brownfield infrastructure assets situated in regions such as Asia, Latin America, Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Key sectors targeted by this strategy include renewable energy, electricity transmission and distribution networks, district cooling systems, toll roads, and digital infrastructure.

The fund has garnered substantial backing from both existing and new investors. These investors comprise pension funds, funds of funds, insurance companies, and sovereign wealth funds hailing from Europe, North America, Asia, and the Middle East. This recent closing builds upon the success of ALLIF1 which had raised US$1.3 billion before its closure in 2019.

This achievement marks another high-profile success for Weil’s Private Funds Group. According to Infrastructure Investor’s ranking for 2025 based on total value of formed infrastructure funds globally, Weil is positioned as the #1 global legal advisor. During the evaluated period of 12 months, Weil advised on funds with nearly US$35 billion in commitments—US$12 billion more than their closest competitor.

Weil’s Global Private Funds Group operates through its hub offices located in London and New York. The group offers an integrated private funds practice that includes strategic advisory services alongside legal execution capabilities encompassing sustainability considerations as well as regulatory and tax expertise. They provide guidance to private fund managers at various stages—from start-ups to publicly listed asset managers—on critical aspects crucial to their business operations.
