Charlesbank Capital Partners secures investment through Lido Advisors’ equity issuance

Ropes & Gray has announced its representation of Charlesbank Capital Partners and Lido Advisors in a new investment agreement. Lido Advisors, an independent registered investment advisor and portfolio company of Charlesbank, plans to issue new equity to HPS Investment Partners. The agreement also includes provisions for the sale or repurchase of a portion of the equity held by existing holders, including Charlesbank. This transaction was made public on May 21 and is anticipated to be finalized in the third quarter of 2025.

Lido Advisors is headquartered in Los Angeles and manages over $30 billion in assets. Charlesbank operates out of Boston and New York, focusing on middle-market private investments with over $20 billion raised since its inception.

The legal team from Ropes & Gray leading this transaction comprises private equity partner Taylor Hart, senior attorney Graham Foster, associate Brandon Winer, tax partner Pamela Glazier, litigation & enforcement partner Lisa Kaltenbrunner, employment partners Kyle Higley and Doug Brayley, asset management partners Brynn Rail and Brian McCabe, along with tax counsel Denise Sohn and Tom Spera, and IP transactions counsel Thomas Burke.
