DoorDash acquires SevenRooms to expand commerce platform

For DoorDash, the acquisition of SevenRooms represents a significant expansion of its Commerce Platform capabilities. This move is aimed at providing merchants with tools to enhance in-store and delivery sales, build stronger customer relationships, and increase profitability. The acquisition is expected to finalize in the latter half of 2025. Although announced on May 6, 2025, the terms of the deal remain undisclosed.

SevenRooms was founded in 2011 and operates more than 13,000 venues worldwide across dining, hotel food and beverage sectors, nightlife, and entertainment. Its clientele includes prominent names such as Marriott International, MGM Resorts International, Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, Wynn Resorts, and Live Nation.

A&O Shearman played a key role in representing DoorDash for this transaction. Jesse Debban, an M&A partner at A&O Shearman stated: “We were pleased to be able to work with DoorDash to secure this exciting and ambitious acquisition.” He further noted that this transaction highlights the firm’s ability to manage global transactions across various jurisdictions efficiently.

The team from A&O Shearman included several partners specializing in different areas such as digital data, IP technology (Alex Touma and Daren Orzechowski), data privacy (Helen Christakos), compensation employment pensions governance (Jai Garg), tax (Larry Crouch), along with associates Mara Goodman, Lucy Chen, Loni Cardoso, Michael Alvarez, Jack Weinert, Florence Duong and Sophia Zander.
