EQT, a global investment organization focused on essential infrastructure, has acquired Seven Seas Water Group. The acquisition aims to expand Seven Seas’ Water-as-a-Service model, providing clean and affordable water solutions to communities with water scarcity and aging infrastructure.

A&O Shearman advised EQT on this transaction. Kent Rowey, A&O Shearman lead partner and global co-head of the firm’s energy, natural resources, and infrastructure practice, commented: “This deal really showcases A&O Shearman at its best, structuring and negotiating a large, complicated, multi-jurisdictional transaction in the infrastructure sector.” He added that their expertise allowed them to provide specialized legal counsel for EQT’s portfolio expansion in the Americas.

The advisory team from A&O Shearman included New York-based partners Romain Dambre on M&A aspects, Dorina Yessios on financing arrangements, John Hibbard on tax matters, and Brian Jebb on compensation and employment issues. Additional support came from energy and infrastructure counsel Peter Tolson and associates Domingo Rios Rivera, Sarah Douki, Gabrielle Scanlin, Juan Santiago; M&A associate Jake Shaughnessy; and compensation and employment associate Hayde Faria.
