Complex Commercial Litigation partner Jessica Falk has been recognized as “Litigator of the Week” by The American Lawyer. This acknowledgment comes after her pivotal role in achieving a $400 million plaintiff antitrust jury verdict for Regeneron Pharmaceuticals in a Delaware federal court case against competitor Amgen.

The trial, which lasted two weeks, concluded with a jury decision in just one day of deliberation. Regeneron claimed that Amgen unlawfully monopolized the U.S. market for PCKSK9 inhibitors, which are medications aimed at reducing hard-to-treat high cholesterol. The verdict was significantly in favor of Regeneron, supporting them on nine out of ten claims.

This legal victory was the result of collaboration among three law firms and required coordinated efforts between Weil’s commercial trial lawyers and antitrust experts from different offices. As noted by The American Lawyer, it involved skilled legal work by Weil’s associates.

The Weil team handling this case was led by Jessica Falk and included U.S. Antitrust Co-Head Michael Moiseyev, Appeals and Strategic Counseling Co-Head Robert Niles-Weed, and antitrust associate Rachel Williams. Other team members comprised associates Naz Akyol, Shai Berman, Katheryn Maldonado, Katya Dajani, Caroline Elvig, Matt Tonglet, Grace Okoroafor; paralegals Camille George and Jonathan Mondschein; and trial graphics specialist Kim Wu.

Weil partnered with White & Case and Orrick during the trial process.
