Morae Global acquires Gimmal with Cooley’s legal guidance

Cooley has advised Gimmal, a company specializing in information management and enterprise content management software, on its acquisition by Morae Global. Morae provides information life cycle management solutions to law firms, legal departments, and compliance executives. Gimmal is a portfolio company of Rubicon Technology Partners, which initially invested in the company in 2017.

The Cooley team advising Gimmal and Rubicon was led by lawyers Kester Spindler, Danielle Fortier, Kaycie Benesch-Rupp, Sydney Sachs, and Sri Ravipati.

Previously, Cooley advised Rubicon on several transactions including the sale of Vision Government Solutions to Great Hill Partners in May 2025. Other notable deals include an investment in Ascend Analytics in March 2024, a majority investment in Vimly Benefit Solutions in February 2024, and an investment in Tacton in August 2023.
