Morgan Lewis has announced the addition of Anthony “Tony” Zacharski to its global investment management team. Based in New York, Zacharski joins from Dechert and will focus on US registered open-end and closed-end funds, along with their boards of directors, investment advisers, and other service providers. His work will encompass operations, corporate governance, compliance, enforcement, and litigation matters.

“As the asset management space evolves, Tony’s strategic insight advising across a wide range of fund products will strengthen our ability to guide clients through their most innovative product development initiatives,” stated Firm Chair Jami McKeon. McKeon emphasized Zacharski’s market reputation and industry experience as key assets for Morgan Lewis’s financial services and investment management practices.

Timothy Levin, leader of the firm’s investment management practice, highlighted Zacharski’s role in broadening the firm’s market-leading practice. “Tony’s arrival broadens our market-leading global investment management practice. A trusted adviser to clients on fund-related issues, Tony’s addition will enable us to expand client relationships and establish new ones—we are thrilled to welcome him to the team,” Levin said. He also noted that Zacharski’s timing aligns with client demands for innovative products amidst an SEC environment open to new ideas.

Zacharski brings over 20 years of experience counseling clients on various aspects such as new product design and implementation, fund reorganizations, financial transactions and changes in control, regulatory filings and disclosures, SEC inquiries and investigations, as well as adapting to regulatory requirements. He is also known for his interest in fund governance and regularly advises independent trustees.

Morgan Lewis continues its expansion by adding breadth to its 170-member investment management practice. Recent additions include former Commodity Futures Trading Commission general counsel Rob Schwartz; partners Hugues Bouchetemble, Nicolas Capelli, Hubert de Vauplane, and Gilles Saint Marc in Paris; secondaries partner Ted Craig in London; financial services litigator Stacie Hartman in Chicago and New York; private funds partner Leonora Shalet in New York; a partner trio Mark Parise, Todd Zerega, Betselot Zeleke on the East Coast; and former SEC private funds branch head Christine Ayako Schleppegrell in Washington DC.
