Sidley adds Ed Gander to lead London’s private funds group

Sidley has announced the addition of Ed Gander to its Investment Funds Practice Group in London. Gander, previously with Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, will lead Sidley’s London Private Funds Group. He is joined by Stephen Fox and Peter Boulle, also from Weil.

Gander is recognized for his extensive experience in international private funds, having over 25 years in fundraising and advising private equity fund sponsors. His expertise spans across various sectors including infrastructure, real estate, credit, and secondaries funds.

Once Fox and Boulle join, they will be part of a six-partner team based in London. This team includes Oren Gertner, Blake Fillion, and Leonard Ng. They offer services across different asset classes such as structuring and marketing funds while addressing commercial and regulatory issues.

Sidley has been expanding its presence in London over the past year with significant hires including Jay Sadanandan leading Leveraged Finance partners and David Stewart joining Global Capital Markets.

In the U.S., Sidley has expanded its funds practice with Shane Goudey heading Venture Capital fund formation from Palo Alto and Mathew Eapen focusing on investment funds in Boston.

Sidley is known for its global legal services covering complex transactions, restructuring, crisis management among others. With approximately 2,300 lawyers globally situated in key financial centers worldwide.
