Egal emphasized the importance for US businesses to conduct thorough reviews of potential business partners. This includes examining internal bylaws, ownership structures, parent companies, and affiliates before proceeding with any sale or licensing agreements involving sensitive data.
“Even on its face, if it’s not a company that is domiciled in a country of concern or a foreign adversary… it still requires you to do that level of due diligence,” stated Egal.
