Willkie Farr & Gallagher’s Los Angeles office has moved into a newly renovated 85,000 square-foot space in the Century Plaza Towers. The office, which opened in 2021, now has about 115 attorneys and is planning for further growth.
Alex Weingarten, Managing Partner of the Los Angeles Office, spoke to The Recorder about the expansion and new location. “We have been growing across many practice areas in L.A. with a focus on quality over quantity and our plan is for that to continue,” he said. “We are not growing to a particular number, but our focus is on organic and opportunistic growth and client demand.”
The profile described features of the new office such as natural light, uniform offices, clear layout, living walls, and other naturalistic elements that reflect Willkie’s culture of openness and collegiality. Workspaces have been designed to match the personalities of key practice groups—corporate, litigation, and private wealth—with amenities including a wine lounge aesthetic, water vapor fireplace, vintage arcade games, and spaces styled like a home den.
“The overall theme is we take the work that we do extraordinarily seriously, but we don’t take ourselves seriously,” Alex told The Recorder.
